Assaranca waterfall can be found a short drive from the beautiful village of Ardara in Donegal. The waterfall is located right beside the route that leads to Maghera Caves and beach (Maghera beach and caves, County Donegal - OUTDOORFITNESSSLIGO) , another must visit location nearby Ardara.
The waterfall is one of the easiest to reach with a small car park literally right at the basin. Where the small car park can be full in the height of summer, it becomes much quieter during the autumn and winter months. And that's when the waterfall is at its most impressive, especially after heavy rainfall when the water thunders down the hill. There has been times that the road became flooded due to the amount of water coming down the mountain, especially after those famous Atlantic storms.
