In the name of research, a new year, a new me?

It is that time of the year again, 1000's of people have made their New Years resolutions and gyms are getting over crowded again. But from the 1000's , only a handful succeed in their quest to a better body, fitter life or slimmer self.

It is also the time of the year that fitness apps advertise on a daily basis , television is flooded with fitness equipment with names like the ab crusher, thigh buster,.... .

So this got me thinking, i never take part in these quests and I won't do it, but in the name of science, I have decided to stop drinking any alcohol until 01st May '15 and eat as healthy as i can. I like my wine, so that will be a hard one to give up. I also like cheese by the ton load and the odd pizza, so these will be gone as well.  The idea is that I will eat fruit, vegetables, odd bit of cheese and drink liters of water, then i will write on a weekly basis about my findings, how I am coping and how claims like "better skin, healthier feeling,..." are true.

What a person does for research. But on a positive note, per  the magazine claims and operation transformation, my BMI should come down by the 1st May '15, just in time for the main sporting season. Hopefully, making me faster on the bike and while swimming.

So this morning started like probably so many people do, i spend time cleaning and emptying our fridge in anticipation of the fresh and healthy food arrival from the shop.
Carefully, plotted next weeks menu and made a shopping list based on this, Pictures of the before and after fridge will follow soon.

So we are ready for week# 1, For all the people working towards a goal in 2015, best of luck. Can't promise that next weeks blog with the update will be as good humoured, According to the books/magazines and television programmes, i might be having nasty withdrawal symptoms and be moody.
