Sligo's coast is rugged. It lives up to the name Wild Atlantic Way every day of the year. From Easkey to Aughris Head , from Strandhill to Mullaghmore, it is there to be enjoyed.

You get to see pods of dolphins playfully leaping out of the water, seagulls falling out of the sky into the deep blue yonder trying to catch the abundant fish swimming around in the fresh waters of the Atlantic.

And one of those locations where you can enjoy the views, the Atlantic Ocean, Wildlife and scenery is Aughris head.

Aughris head is a short coastal walk  with views as far as Benbulben and Knocknarea, and on a clear day as far as Slieve League in Co.Donegal. The walk is along the shore ending at a rocky beach. And after your walk, it is difficult not to stop at the Beach Bar and enjoy a drink in an old charm pub right on the beach or just sit outside on the wall enjoying the views or sunset.
