There is Table Mountain in Cape town, and then there is Benbulben in Co.Sligo. Benbulben is part of the Dartry Mountains and stands 526m tall.
Benbulben is a spectacular mountain formed during the ice age when Ireland was hiddent under glaciers. Originally, it was a plateau, and when glaciers started moving, Benbulben got shaped into it's current form.
We headed towards Luke's bridge which can be easily reached by road. From Luke's bridge, you will probably find the easiest route up Benbulben.

Luke's bridge is marked by a small car park. When you visit this area during the end of May or early June, a sea of purple Rhododendrons colour the landscape.

The area around Luke's bridge opens up fantastic views towards the Atlantic and on a clear day even as far as Slieve League in co.Donegal.
From Luke's bridge, follow the road which winds it's way up the mountain along the small stream.
