Murvagh Beach is a Blue flag beach not to far from Donegal town. It is a waypoint along the Wild Atlantic Way and is a must visit location. Murvagh beach is a very shallow beach, so if you decide to go for a swim, you will have to walk a great distance into the sea.
What is special about Murvagh beach is that on one side, you have the beach, on the other side you have Murvagh forest.
In between the two are the dunes which are designated a special area of conservation.
With a total length of 2km, there is plenty of space for every beachgoer. As mentioned before, it is a shallow beach, so it is very save for kids in general. There is an ample carpark from where you can follow a boardwalk towards the beach. Or feeling adventurous, head into the forest and discover some of the walking trails.
The beach is perfect for any season, in the winter go for a fabulous walk and admire the views towards Slieve League, in the summer just relax and soak up the sun.
