Thank you for stopping by
We are Peter & Dolores De Bie. Together with our kids, we love travelling, trying new adventures & sampling local food. We love the great outdoors, hence a lot of our featured material is about the great outdoors, local walks and adventures, competitions,... We started off in Sligo, which is the place we call home. After focussing on the beauty of co.Sligo, we decided to grow our website and write about our adventures along the Wild Atlantic Way. Still not happy, we included in 2016 our adventures abroad as well. All our trips are self experienced, none of our adventures are sponsored or paid trips. This means that all our content is unbiased. If we travel, we travel like everybody else. We sit in airport departure lounges, we eat the local food, we sleep in rental houses/hotels/B&B's... . |
About Peter
After spending the first 20 years of his life living in Antwerp, Belgium , Peter decided to move to Sligo, Ireland where he met Dolores.
Peter always had a keen interest for the great outdoors, during the 90's he was a keen mountain biker spending most of his weekends travelling to the different race venues . The travelbug he got from his parents, who travelled to the lesser known locations around Europe. For example, they brought little Peter on his first holiday to Ireland in the late 70's, a place they frequently visited during the 80's and 90's. Package holidays didn't exist in the "De Bie" household, the norm was local transportation, local food and mingling with the locals. "After buying my first DSLR camera in Chicago, i started capturing my adventures and sharing it on all that is social media." |
About Dolores
Dolores, who has always lived in Sligo, started getting interested in travelling when she met Peter.
A keen photographer in her own right, Dolores has been very active sharing her photographs on social media like twitter, facebook & Instagram. Her pictures are very unique and her eye for the smaller details are visible in all the pictures she takes. Dolores has the last years grown a huge interest in trying new adventure sports. She has dived from cliffs during some coasteering along the Wild Atlantic Way, trying out some kayaking & Supping or just hiking along some forest trails. |
