Hidden In the barren landscape of the Burren is the Burren Perfumery (https://burrenperfumery.com/). In an oasis of greenery which sites in stark contrast with the karst landscape of the Burren is the Burren Perfumery. First visit was the shop where we admired the many products on offer and the workplace where cosmetics were being manufactured. In the blending room, the range of organic creams and balms are made in small batches and the tradition is to only manufacture when needed. Fresh cut flowers made the entire shop look very summery, especially with the summer sun splitting the stones outside. After a few small purchases we decided to walk through the beautiful herb garden. Walking towards the garden, we had a look in the soap house where all the beautiful soaps are being manufactured. Where Dolores likes the soaps and cosmetics, I was more drawn towards the herb garden where small tables were scattered around providing customers with a place to relax. Between the many herbal plants and roses are small walkways, the garden itself being surrounded by stone walls sheltering it from the wind. The garden is amazing considering the landscape around it is rocky and barren, this little oasis allows you to relax in the stressful world we live in. There is also a tearoom in the grounds where you can enjoy a lovely cup of tea or coffee with a slice of the selection of organic cakes, pies or scones. The tearoom is covered by roses, and when seated on the nearby terras, you can enjoy the scent of these magnificent flowers.
The Burren perfumery is open again, and all precautions have been taken to allow visitors to social distance and sanitize their hands.
